PHILIP JAMES ("SONNY, JOCK") CHRISTIAN

Philip James “Sonny, Jock” Christian, 77 of McKeesport, PA was called home Friday May 12. 2017 in UPMC McKeesport.  He was born September 14, 1939 to the late James P. “Fritzi” and Gladys Shern Hill Christian.

As a child, Sonny, was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church of McKeesport. Philip graduated from McKeesport Area School District Class of 1958. Philip, also known as P.J. was employed with Westinghouse Airbrake in Wilmerding, PA in the Locomotive and Rubber Products Division, he retired March 2000 after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Duquesne Dukes Bowling League of Duquesne, PA, Pride of the West Lodge No. 84, F&AM and Booker T. Washington Lodge No.218 both of McKeesport, PA.

He leaves to cherished his memories, brother, Rashidi F. (Deborah) Christian of Washington, DC, sisters, Katherine C. Adams of Glen Burnie, MD, Sandra A. Christian and Dora Mae (Rodney) Sampson both of McKeesport, PA, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.

Visitation 4 – 8 PM Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at The First United Methodist Church of McKeesport, PA where the homegoing service will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 11 AM.  Interment at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, McKeesport, Pa.
